1706 Error

You will often hear people say that they put up their computer in the morning only to be greeted with a 1706 error. Other times you will see this messenger pop-up when you are trying to start Outlook express. The truth is that this sort of error can pop-up when you are starting any sort of programme.

All this refers to is that a valid source can be found, and this can refer to any program or source that the operating system cannot find at that time. So why does this happen when it did not happen the last time, and your computer has been running fine? Why also would happen when you have not been searching for a particular source?

Often this situation will occur after one of Windows automatic updates. Updates will involve the use of the update manager and as such people will often think that you are going to be able to sort out the problem by installing an updated update manager. In some cases this will work but in others it will not.

Of course a faulty update manager is likely to cause the issue of frequent basis, and therefore getting a new one is going to be able to help, but this is not always going to be the case with all computers as the cause of the problem will often be different. It is possible to also simply disable the update manager and then manually replace any missing files on the registry.

Another solution that you could try in order to fix this error is as follows. Make sure that you have the latest version of install shield installed on the computer. If you do not, then updated and install it to resolve the error. If the installation process is not able to complete, then use the search function on the computer to search for the relevant files and then provide relocation to complete the installation process.

If this does not fix the problem then you might need to use a registry cleaner in order to sort the problem out for good. You can get registry cleaners online free, but also able to pay for better versions. These will run a scan on the computer and should be able to sort out any problems that you have on the registry.
